DOGTECH Wolf is a specially designed protective vest for hunting dogs working in areas with high wolf populations. It provides protection against wolf attacks while maintaining the dog's freedom of movement, agility and comfort during hunting.
Developed in 2025, the model incorporates experience gained during the first year of the international FACE study and feedback from hunters. The main objective was to create a lighter, better-ventilated protective vest suitable for hunting in warmer climates.
Unlike the versatile DOGTECH One Gen2, this model is primarily designed to protect against wolf attacks rather than injuries caused by wild boar tusks.
Protection against wolf attacks. The vest comes equipped with the latest-generation Wolf Steel Gen2 protective steel elements, positioned along the dog's back to protect the spinal area.
Freedom of movement. Its lightweight and flexible construction allows the dog to run, jump and move freely through challenging terrain.
Two versions available. Regular – a lightweight standard version; Mesh – a highly ventilated version designed for hunting in warm weather and for dogs prone to overheating.
Modular attachment system. The back panel features a PALS/MOLLE system for attaching GPS pouches and other accessories.
Durable materials. Made from lightweight, highly wear-resistant materials suitable for demanding hunting conditions.
Wolf Steel Gen2 Protective Elements Included
The DOGTECH Wolf vest comes complete with Swedish-made Wolf Steel Gen2 protective elements manufactured from durable stainless spring steel. These elements attach directly to the vest's PALS/MOLLE straps and are designed to provide additional protection for the dog's back and spinal area during wolf attacks. The flexible steel construction helps maintain the dog's natural freedom of movement while providing an extra layer of protection.
DOGTECH Wolf was used in the 2025 LIFE WILD WOLF project. According to the manufacturer, in documented wolf attacks during the study, all dogs wearing protective vests equipped with Wolf Steel elements survived with only minor injuries.
These results demonstrate the potential of protective equipment to reduce the risk of serious injuries. However, no protective vest can guarantee complete safety during a wolf attack.

Important: DOGTECH Wolf is specifically designed for protection against wolf attacks. If your dog hunts in areas where both wolves and wild boar are present, the manufacturer recommends DOGTECH One Gen2, which can also be equipped with certified protection against puncture injuries caused by wild boar tusks.

Choosing the correct DOGTECH vest size requires just one measurement – your dog's chest circumference.
How to measure your dog: Use a soft measuring tape to measure the circumference of your dog's chest immediately behind the front legs, at the widest point of the rib cage. Do not pull the tape too tightly.

Both sizes are designed for dogs with a chest circumference of 55–65 cm. The difference lies in the vest's proportions.
SW (Small Wide) is suitable for shorter, stockier dogs with a broad chest.
M is designed for dogs with a more proportionate body shape and normal back length.
